• Yıllar önce ismini duyup yine anca seyredebildiğim bir belgesel oldu.
• Bu ara yine yeniden arılar ile ilgili (tabii ki canım Efes Artemis’in sembollerinden olması bağlamında özellikle) bir yükselişim olduğu için artık herhalde izlemenin vakti deyip hazır Apple TV’ye gelmişken seyrettim. Çok da iyi oldu.
• Şahaneydi. 
• İnsanlar ne orijinal konular üzerinden hele ki devam eden yaşamlar bağlamında belgeseller ortaya koyuyor, bir kez daha hayretler ettim. 
• Ne yazık ki yeniden (geçen İlerleme isimli tiyatroda başka bir versiyonunu seyrettiğim üzere) kapitalizmin insanların hayatlarını acımasızca etkileme halini, bu sefer de çok naif bir hayat üzerinden seyretmek tabii ki çok hüzünlüydü. İçim burkuldu. 
• Daha düğüm atılacağını anladığım an böğrüme oturan hissiyatı devamında görmek acıttı. 
• Çünkü kadını çok bizden hissettim. Annemlerin göçmen olarak geldiği Makedonya topraklarındaki kadın olması da kendi nezdimdeki etkisini perçinledi. 
• Tek başına bir hayat mücadelesi veren, adeta medeniyetten uzak yaşayan ve fakat tüm insani duygularıyla capcanlı, hayat dolu bir kadını izlemek isterseniz mutlaka bir şans verin derim.

Meraklısına:

- Diyalogların tamamı doğal akış içinde kaydedilmiş. Kurmaca gibi kurgulanmış görünse de her şey gerçekte olduğu gibi yansıtılıyor. Hatidze ile yönetmenler arasında önceden yazılmış hiçbir senaryo yok.

- Göçebe Hasan ailesi, çekimler devam ederken plansız bir şekilde bölgeye gelmiş. Yönetmenler bu aileyi ve Hatidze ile olan çatışmalarını belgeselin merkezine alacak şekilde yapıyı yeniden kurgulamış.

- Yapım, aynı yıl hem “En İyi Belgesel” hem de “En İyi Uluslararası Film” dalında aday gösterilen ilk film oldu.

- 2019-Saraybosna Film Festivali’nde TRT’den 30.000€ aldı. Bunla, Hatidže’ye yakın köylerden biri olan Lozovo Belediyesi’ndeki Dorfulija köyünde, akrabalarına ve arkadaşlarına yakın bir yerde yeni bir ev alındı.

Sams ailesinin çocuklarını desteklemek için belgeselin internet sitesinde  bağış sayfası oluşturuldu.

Yönetmenler Kotevska ve Stefanov ayrıca bir kampanya başlattı; bağış yapanlara doğal bal kavanozları gönderiliyor ve elde edilen gelir Hatidže ve komşularına destek olarak kullanılıyor.

Honeyland..

• It’s a documentary I had heard about years ago, but only just now managed to watch
• Recently, I’ve been experiencing a renewed fascination w bees (especially considering they are among the symbols of dear Artemis of Ephesus), so I thought it was finally time to watch it&since it had just arrived on Apple TV, I did. glad I did
• Was magnificent.
• Once again amazed by how people create documentaries around such original topics, especially ones based on ongoing real lives
• Unfortunately—just as I recently witnessed in another form in the play Progress—watching capitalism ruthlessly affect people’s lives, this time through such a gentle, humble existence, was truly heartbreaking
• The moment I sensed that things were about to unravel, a weight settled on my chest&didn’t let go
• I deeply related to the woman. The fact that she’s from the lands of Macedonia, where my mother’s family emigrated from, intensified the impact on me
• If you want to witness the story of a woman fighting for her life all alone, living almost cut off from civilization but still vibrant&full of human emotion, I wholeheartedly recommend you give it a chance

For those curious:

- All dialogues were recorded as they happened in real life. Even though it may seem like it’s scripted, everything shown is authentic. There was no pre-written script between Hatidže&the filmmakers

- The nomadic family of Hasan arrived in the area unexpectedly during filming. The directors restructured the documentary around this family&their conflicts with Hatidže

-The 1st film in history to be nominated in both Best Documentary&Best International Feature Film categories in the same year

- At the 2019 Sarajevo Film Festival, it received a €30,000 prize from TRT (Turkish Radio&Television Corporation). This money was used to buy Hatidže a new home in the village of Dorfulija in the Lozovo Municipality, near her friends and relatives.

- A donation page was set up on the film’s official website to support the children of the Sams family.

- Directors Kotevska&Stefanov also launched a campaign where jars of natural honey are sent to donors, and the funds raised are used to support Hatidže&her neighbors.
