• İzmir DT’nin bu yeni büyük oyununun başrolünde (hiç söylemiyorsunuz) meğersem ben varmışım. Şaka şaka benzetmekten uzak olsun. Başrolde Afife Jale arz-ı endam ediyor. Yanında da Bedia Muvahhit. 
• Bu bağlamda anlayacağınız üzere aslında farklı dönemlerde sahnede yer almış iki öncü Türk kadın tiyatro oyuncusunun hayatlarını, gerçek ile hayali birbirine katan bir kurguda bize sanan müthiş incelikli bir eser var karşımızda. 
• Zira özellikle de tam bu noktada kendi adıma beğenme sebeplerim oluşturan bir yapım oldu.

• Ve aktrislerimizi hayat veren iki ayrı kadın oyuncunun yanında onların hayatında yer alan erkek oyuncuyu tek bir kişi olarak İ. Hakan Özgömeç’ın canlandırması bu noktada inanılmazdı.
• O karakter geçişlerini böylesi ustalıklı ve hissettirmeden yapışını altındaki emeği düşünemiyorum bile. 
• Aynı şekilde Afife Hanım’a (Burcu Ongun Altay) ve Bedia Hanım’a (Özlem Başkaya) hayat veren sanatçıların da, adeta onların sahnede izliyormuşcasına canlandırışı harikulade.
• Gerçekten de bir Osmanlı döneminde Afife‘yi, bir Cumhuriyet dönemine geçip Bedia Hanım’ı sahnede ve kuliste yaşadıklarıyla seyretmenin keyfi ayrı güzeldi. 
• İşte bu sebepten ötürü bu iki yaşantıyı iç içe geçmiş bir şekilde ve bence renkli ve oldukça yaratıcı detaylarla taçlandırarak birbirine bağlayıp bize sunması beni çok etkiledi. 
• Özetle iyi ya da kötü den uzak bir noktada böylesi önemli iki dönemi Atatürk’ün bize sağladığı farkları netleştirerek ortaya koymasıyla kıymetini arttıran bir eser üzerinden seyretme şansını yakalamanız çok isterim.

Meraklısına: Simlerle yıldızların birleşmesi, maskelerle gölge yanların bağlantılandırılması, böylesi incelikli kostümlerle karakter-zaman-mekân geçişlerinin renklenmesi, müziklerle atmosferin capcanlı hayat bulması, ses efektlerinin/ekonun vb. fark edilecek şekilde net güzellikte kullanımı, tabii ki kırmızı elmalar ve tiyatro faresi sembolleriyle tüm kurgunun birbiriyle bağlanarak sürekliliğini sağlanması, o flaşlar patlayan kırmızı halı enstantanesi vb. nice detay beni gerçekten benden aldı.

Hayal-i Temsil [Dream of Representation]

• Apparently, I am in the lead role of İzmir State Theatre’s grand new production (you never mentioned it!). Just kidding—far from it. The leading role belongs to Afife Jale, alongside Bedia Muvahhit.
• As you can tell, this is an exquisitely refined piece that blends reality and fiction, portraying the lives of two pioneering Turkish women in theatre who performed on stage in different eras.
• For me, this was precisely why I found the production so captivating.

• What truly amazed me was İ. Hakan Özgömeç playing all the male characters in the lives of these two actresses. His seamless, masterful transitions between characters were astonishing—I can’t even begin to imagine the effort behind them.
• Likewise, the performances of Burcu Ongun Altay as Afife Jale and Özlem Başkaya as Bedia Muvahhit were outstanding. It felt as if I were watching these legendary women perform live on stage.
• Experiencing Afife in the Ottoman era and then transitioning into the Republic era with Bedia—witnessing their lives both on and off stage—was a delight in itself.
• What truly moved me was how the play intertwined these two lives, enriching them with vibrant and highly creative details.
• In short, I strongly encourage you to see this play, not just because it’s good or bad, but because it highlights two crucial historical periods, emphasizing the transformations made possible by Atatürk’s vision.

For those who love the details: The fusion of shimmering threads with stars, the symbolic connection between masks and shadow selves, the meticulous costumes that enhance the transitions between characters, time, and space, the music that brings the atmosphere to life, the strikingly well-executed sound effects and echoes, the red apples and theatre mouse motifs binding the narrative together, and that flashing red carpet moment—each detail completely captivated me.
